The team play season is the 4 consecutive Sundays starting 9-17-17. PLEASE READ THIS EMAIL CAREFULLY ESPECIALLY AT THE BOTTOM AS THERE ARE MAJOR CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR AND WE BELIEVE THESE CHANGES WILL INCREASE PARTICIPATION AND MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOUR CLUBS TO FORM TEAMS!!
As before, eligible players need to be handicapped as of no later than 5-1-17 and the low index period is the 6 revision dates in May, June and July (5-1 to and including 7-15).
ENTRY DEADLINE 9-1-17
NEW CHANGES FOR 2017:
Participation has been declining and after last season we sent out some thoughts/suggestions and we got a lot of great input back. Based on all of this information and review and to make the event easier to fill and get more total teams signed up in more flights, we have made the following adjustments, which change the bands but keep the key and popular historical aspects of the event unchanged:
All players must have a minimum of 10 rounds posted between 1-1-17 and 9-15-17 to be eligible. Any waiver requests must be submitted to the team play committee for consideration no later than 9-1-17.
There is no change to the Mixed flight
The only change to the Championship flight is a minor change in the LI band, now 4.9 and below. It remains all at GROSS.
There will now be 5 flights instead of 7 flights, and all flight bands except for Championship will be wider and will now be played at NET (basically the same as the mixed flight has worked the past few years)
The new bands are as follows, and except where anyone may play up into championship flight, now with wider ranges there will be no more playing up in the other flights (LI over the 6 revision dates in May, June and July). Teams can still enter multiple teams per flight:
Champ 4.9 and below
A 5.0 to 9.9
B 10.0 to 14.9
C 15.0 and up
Mixed All Hcps
Play will be net in all flights except for champs, with the 3 high players stroking off of the one lowest in the foursome (same as mixed has used)
In the net flights, captains may still decide who partners with who, but now they can no longer set the order - the order will go from the high aggregate of partners indexes to the low aggregate of partners indexes (same as has been used in mixed flight)
For playoffs in net flights, as before the captain may designate any 2 players (regardless of whether they were paired together in the match or not)
